The Department is making further changes taking effect from Sunday. Bottom line get any attendances in before the 'whole new world'.

Dear Friend,

CHANGES TO THE MINISTERS RULES

WHAT ? More changes to rules
WHEN ? Published this week , CCS changes from Sunday
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO ? Get any attendances in for this week asap.

The rules are changing again and you can read the announcement here

Please note anything could change again between you reading this and the Department's communication so always go with the department's comms first.

The most important thing to do is to get this week's attendances (and any prior ones) in as soon as possible.

DO THIS AS SOON AS YOU CAN, WHICH SHOULD BE AS SOON AS YOUR LAST SESSION FOR THE WEEK IS UNDERWAY.

Of course you should always try to be as accurate as you can but speed is essential in this case.

We will run a forced submit on Saturday (SUNDAY for applicable FDCs) to pick up any attendances that have not already been submitted where we can and our support team will be open this weekend if you run into issues.

The changes as they stand are dramatic :

Instead of regular CCS payments calculated on session reports, centres will receive a weekly lump sum payment calculated on the payment received for the last 2 weeks in FEB (or OCT holidays if a VAC).

You will receive this payment whether enrolments have dropped afterwards or not.

You will not be allowed to charge parents.

The announcement says the payment will be 50% of fees up to the hourly cap rate. Looking across our centres that's pretty close to the average CCS to centre fees. Individual centres may be above or below that.

You will not be submitting session reports (attendances) to CCS but you are still required to keep them and provide entitlement statements to parents.

CCS will restart the 14 week counter on Monday so enrolments that are active now will stay that way until the end of the Financial Year at least.

You are expected to prioritise children from working families. You can still enrol new children as you would have previously.

You are allowed to refund gap payments back to 23RD MARCH at your discretion.

Basically childcare has just been nationalised !

This is a work in progress and the rules could change again.

We are making some changes in SmartCentral behind the scenes but we will try to minimise the impact to you where we can and will let you know if needs be.

For now just go ahead and get this weeks attendances sorted and submitted as soon as you can. If you need help, yell !
SUPPORT WILL BE OPEN THIS WEEKEND

We will keep you posted. Good luck out there.
Regards
Darryl
